Pentacare Hospital was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on 11th February, 2020 and with the Ministry of Health, Kwara State on the 4th of June, 2020. The hospital is located behind Fate L.G.E.A Nur/Pry School, Moronranti Tolani Street, Off Umar Audi Road, Fate, Ilorin. Pentacare Hospital is an offshoot of an unregistered private practice (Solagberu Orthopedics and Trauma Clinic) based at Olalomi Hospital, Ilorin from 1999 to 2019. The clinic operated on a fortnight basis i.e. once every two weeks, with inpatients (patients on admission) pulled from the outpatients attending the clinic.

The healthcare industry consists of businesses that provide medical services, manufacturing and supplying of medical equipment and/or drugs, provision of health insurance, and related activities. These include pharmaceutical shops, medical equipment suppliers, nursing homes, hospitals among others.
At the beginning, the proprietor, Dr. Solagberu was an Orthopedics Consultant at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Ilorin. He operated the clinic as a side practice with his job as a Doctor at the UITH and as a Lecturer at the University of Ilorin (UIL), Kwara State. By 2007, Dr. Solagberu moved over to Lagos at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) and the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Ikeja. However, there was a continuous demand for Dr. Solagberu’s expertise, and this necessitated shuttling between Ilorin and Lagos.
Between 2018 and 2019, there arose a strong desire to enter into full-time private practice, which would be an answer to the dysfunctional and underdeveloped healthcare services in Nigeria. It was realized that even Orthopedics and Trauma patients (i.e. patients with limb and spine issues) do have other problems like hypertension, diabetes, and others. for which they are referred to other centers.
Therefore, a one-stop-shop where every service or nearly everything needed by a patient including investigative mortalities will be available is in high demand. Additionally, having the customer in mind (the patient) envisioned to divide all diseases into what can be counted at the tips of the five fingers. On the left hand, there are the morbidities (the most frequent diseases) and on the right side, there are the mortalities i.e. the most common causes of death.
Hence, the name Pentacare – care of five major ailments with a five-fold efficiency.
