Pentacare Hospital is a multi-specialty hospital that commenced operations on April 1, 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming to transform the fragmented healthcare experience where patients were often sent to multiple centres for clinical evaluation, diagnostic tests, and access to medication while on their journey to wellness or care. Four (4) strategic objectives were established to be achieved in 20 years (2020 – 2040). The 20 years were divided into three phases of 5, 5, and 10 years.
About Pentacare
The first five years have a single strategic objective: to be a one-stop medical facility with adequate clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic necessities (April 2020 – March 2025).
The second five years, from April 2025 to March 2030, have two strategic objectives: expanding to become a University Teaching Hospital with 120 beds and a University of Medical Sciences awarding degrees in several healthcare-related disciplines: medicine and surgery, nursing sciences, pharmacy, radiography, physiotherapy, optometry, laboratory sciences, biomedical engineering, health informatics or information management and others.
The third and final phase of 10 years, from April 2030 to March 2040, will begin with the establishment of a Global Research Centre for the Diseases of the Blackman. Many healthcare measures in Nigeria and other black countries are direct extrapolations of Caucasian values. Many diseases remain underrepresented in terms of both severity and occurrence. Indeed, the cultural and environmental imperatives of healthcare delivery, as well as the dynamics of the political economy, are crucial in ensuring that healthcare delivery is sustained despite threats to Human Resources for Health (HRH), which are constantly being challenged by Brain Drain, and to deliver top-notch care.
